چکیده
Given a graph G with source and destination vertices s , t ? V ( ) respectively, Tracking Paths asks for minimum set of T ? such that the sequence restricted to encountered in each simple path from is unique. The problem was proven NP -hard [3] found admit quadratic kernel when parameterized by size desired solution [8] . Following recent trends, first time, we study respect structural parameters input graph, measure how far is, an easy instance. We prove admits fixed-parameter tractable FPT algorithms following parameters: i 2-dominating set, ii cluster vertex deletion iii split set. En route also look at Vertex Cover edge clique cover show it tractable. •

On Structural Parameterizations of the Edge Disjoint Paths Problem
In this paper we revisit the classical Edge Disjoint Paths (EDP) problem, where one is given an undirected graph G and a set of terminal pairs P and asks whether G contains a set of pairwise edge-disjoint paths connecting every terminal pair in P . Our focus lies on structural parameterizations for the problem that allow for efficient (polynomial-time or fpt) algorithms. As our first result, we...
متن کاملStructural Parameterizations of the Mixed Chinese Postman Problem
In the Mixed Chinese Postman Problem (MCPP), given a weighted mixed graph G (G may have both edges and arcs), our aim is to find a minimum weight closed walk traversing each edge and arc at least once. The MCPP parameterized by the number of edges in G or the number of arcs in G is fixed-parameter tractable as proved by van Bevern et al. (in press) and Gutin, Jones and Sheng (ESA 2014), respect...
متن کاملOn Structural Parameterizations for the 2-Club Problem
The NP-hard 2-Club problem is, given an undirected graph G = (V,E) and ` ∈ N, to decide whether there is a vertex set S ⊆ V of size at least ` such that the induced subgraph G[S] has diameter at most two. We make progress towards a systematic classification of the complexity of 2-Club with respect to a hierarchy of prominent structural graph parameters. First, we present the following tight NP-...
متن کاملOn Structural Parameterizations of Firefighting
The Firefighting problem is defined as follows. At time t = 0, a fire breaks out at a vertex of a graph. At each time step t > 0, a firefighter permanently defends (protects) an unburned vertex, and the fire then spread to all undefended neighbors from the vertices on fire. This process stops when the fire cannot spread anymore. The goal is to find a sequence of vertices for the firefighter tha...
متن کاملOn Structural Parameterizations of Hitting Set: Hitting Paths in Graphs Using 2-SAT
Hitting Set is a classic problem in combinatorial optimization. Its input consists of a set system F over a finite universe U and an integer t; the question is whether there is a set of t elements that intersects every set in F . The Hitting Set problem parameterized by the size of the solution is a well-known W[2]-complete problem in parameterized complexity theory. In this paper we investigat...
